Theatre of Tragedy - Storm [2006]

What can I say.. this was a VERY pleasant surprise..
The new cd of this Norwegian band, simply rocks! Great vocals, extremely catching tunes, some nifty effects, generally real quality stuff.
Hardcore enthusiasts of the band may not like the new cd though, as with the new singer Nell Sigland who replaced Liv Kristine (now in Leave's Eyes), their sound has changed a lot from the doomy goth sound they had.
All the tracks are great, and this is one of the cds that you pop in your cd player and pop out when its finished! (You will certainly catch me around Nicosia in my Niva, with the speakers cranked up ;p)
Highlights are the cover track "Storm", "Silence", "Voices", "Exile" and generally all songs are brilliant, usually with some dark-sounding vocals from Raymond I. Rohonyi and then a heavenly sound from Nell.
Also, the cd was mixed by Greg Reely, who did (amongst others) Paradise Lost and Fear Factory.

LINE UP:

Raymond I. Rohonyi (vocals), Nell (vocals), Pal Bjastad (guitar), Tommy Lindal (guitar), Erik T. Saltro (bass), Lorents Aspen (keyboards), Hein Frode Hansen (drums)
